Skylines, Cribs, and Guitars

This is the view from our friend's apartment rooftop. I thought it was a nice shot with the blue sky and fluffy clouds. It was such a beautiful New York day.

This photo just cracks me up. Madi loves to stand, without parental help, in her crib. You can see her little hands holding on so tightly. That doesn't mean there isn't time to taste the furniture.
Here she is rockin' out with Daddy. She loves that guitar and can't get enough of watching Dad play or pluckin' those strings herself. Wow, Dad, do we need tickets to that gun show!!

The "Madi" Look

Madeline rarely smiles at strangers. Instead she gives them this look. We call it the "madi look". She inherently knows she can't smile at strangers in New York City.

Of course she knows how to laugh and have fun too! Here she is having some belly laughs and showing off her new clapping skills.

Madi - Daddy Morning Walks

Charles gets to spend quality time with Madeline while I'm running (or sleeping in) in the morning. He takes her to the park near our house along the Hudson river. They stopped for a little picnic and had a great view of the George Washington Bridge. Those buildings on the left are in New Jersey.

Madeline does this funny thing with her lips. She smacks them in a way that none of us can duplicate. Charles caught her in action.

On the way home they pick up hot bagels from a shop around the corner that bakes them fresh every morning. Sometimes the bagels go right from the oven into our bag and are so hot that the workers need to wear gloves. Yum!

NY, NY Stake Block Party

Each year our church hosts a "block party". That means they block off the street to traffic and the street is filled with food, music, and lots of stuff to buy. (For cheap, I might add.) It was a fund raiser for the youth in the stake. Everyone was welcome. The missionaries took visitors on a tour of the building. It was a huge success.
