Here and There in NYC - Part II

On Tuesday we took Madeline to Jones Beach for some fun in the sun. It's technically in Long Island but it's only a about 10 miles outside of Queens.

She ran through a flock of seagulls with daddy...
...and got tossed in the air in the cool ocean breeze.
She really loved it and couldn't stop staring at the vast blue water and crashing waves.

On Madi's birthday we traveled only a block away to catch the end of the 12th annual Virgin Mary Parade by the Hispanic chapter of the New York Archdiocese. The Friars were in full dress while carrying multiple effigies of 'Maria'.

There was even a live version of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus.
Each Latin American country had a float in the parade with singers, dancers, and musicians. We caught a glimpse of floats from Ecuador and Puerto Rico. We love the culture of NYC!

Birthday Girl

We have a one year old!
Try as we may to get her to dig in to that cake....
....she wasn't crazy about getting sticky icing on her fingers.
So, Grandmum put another cake in front of her. This time with Barney on it. Still no go but she did like to eat the wax Elmo candle.
The Grandmoore's had to make two trips in a luggage cart to haul all of Madi's presents up! (First grandchild = very spoiled)
She got plenty of new books which she loves. And everyone took turns reading to her....
....and playing with her (she refused to wear the birthday hat).
Madeline loves to climb on Grandmum's back and play peek-a-boo.Here she is blowing a fishy face kiss to G-Pop.
I can't stop squeezing my girl.
She loves tickle time!

Wedding Day in Las Vegas

Wedding Day in Las Vegas
We were surprised to see our family and friends lined up outside the temple after we were married. It was a nice moment for us.
