Fairies

What do you do when it's too hot to play outside? You dress your baby up like a fairy, of course.
....98, 99, 100. Even Fairies have to do their push-ups. Actually, Madeline was intrigued with the ray of sunshine she found on the floor. After the wings come off then it's ballerina time.
Madeline just got back from the doctor today. She weighs 23 lbs and is 31 inches tall. Just perfect for a fairy or ballerina.

Trying to Stand

Madeline doesn't like to sit anymore. She stands when she looks at books.
She will never sit in her crib and play. It's always standing time.
She is standing underneath her mesh toy holder. She likes the way her hand feels through the mesh. Here she is attempting the big "pull-up" to a stand. She usually chews on the edge of the sofa cushions before she makes it to her feet.
Ta-da! Mission accomplished.

A Day at the Museum

Saturday we went to the Museum of Natural History.
Madeline absolutely loved it.
She would wave at the animals and squeal with excitement.
She also liked to press her feet against the glass. The little dinosaurs were her favorites. Looks like it's time to pull out the book my nephew Nate Hale illustrated all about dinosaurs at the museum at Christmas.

We ended the day with a fabulous barbecue with some friends.

4th of July Weekend in Delaware

We had a great time at G-Pop and Grandmum Moore's house over the 4th of July weekend. Since Madi had adoring hands to care for her, I spent some time playing around with PhotoShop. This photo was taken on her 9 month birthday.

We love slobbery kisses!
Madi and Daddy hanging out at the BBQ.Charles' Dad and Uncle Michael playing a game of chess. It's too bad that photos don't come with sound because then you could hear how loud this game was. It was like they were two teenagers again. It was hilarious to watch.
A nice shot of Aunt Aminah, Michael's wife. They were visiting from Ohio.

Charles' Grandma, or Granny Mae as we lovingly call her, has more energy than most 25 year olds. She couldn't stay long because she had to help a family who had just lost a loved one. She's a good example to me of selfless service.

Madi is giving Grandmum the love pat on her face. She spends so much time reading, playing, feeding, and bathing our baby...did I mention playing? Madi just loves it. It's a true vacation for me whenever we're there.

Stopping to explore the flower bush. I may be crazy but I think I look like my sister, Susan, in this photo. Though, I have a feeling my family will burst my bubble.
Showing off her new dress. We feel like Madi has really grown up this week. We wondered if we brought home the same baby.

Crawling

This is a familiar sight at our house. Madi shows her affection by patting her dad's head...like she's checking to see if it's a good melon.
Madi is hanging out with some of the young women from the ward. She took off her sock and sucked on it. It was too wet to put back on.

Madeline has been crawling for a while. We finally had the video camera ready to capture her jaunt across the floor pursuing Daddy's blackberry.

Wedding Day in Las Vegas

Wedding Day in Las Vegas
We were surprised to see our family and friends lined up outside the temple after we were married. It was a nice moment for us.
