Grandpa Moore

When I joined the Moore family I quickly fell in love with Grandpa. (There are many reasons he was easy to love but mainly it was because of the way he adored Grandma.) So, it was with heavy hearts this Easter that we honored him at his funeral. It was a beautiful service that uplifted, inspired, and reminded us of what Easter really means.

To give you an idea of what this incredible man was like, I've noted just a few of his accomplishments.

• Grandpa studied and played piano at Carnegie Hall studios in New York City preparing for European concert tours. Many musicians work their entire career for an opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall. Grandpa played there weekly.
• He was also an accomplished artist. He won many awards including becoming a John Hay Whitney Fellow. He studied at the Art Student's League and the National Academy of Fine Arts.
  
• On many afternoons he would spend time painting portraits or landscapes in Central Park with friends such as Salvador Dali.
• In addition to art and music, Grandpa worked as an electrical engineer and retired in 1977.
  

Grandpa and Grandma were married for 63 years and he never grew tired of playing the piano for her. We love you Grandpa!

Techno Baby

Madeline is finishing up some work while Daddy watches the Yankees. "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" is her standard bedtime lullaby.
(Note: We're in our new apartment! Wahoo!)


Now she's using Dad's blackberry to call Aunt Katya and thank her for all the Google clothes.


Madeline had her 6 month check-up today and she is 21 pounds and 28 inches. That's 1.3 pounds of lusciousness per baby inch.

She loves to roll over and say "ba-ba-ba-ba-ba". She also finds it hilarious when Charles sings Bee Gees songs to her. When I sing the same song she just stares at me blankly. Daddy hits her funny bone.
