Memorial Day Weekend

We took Madeline to the Philadelphia zoo. She slept through most everything...
....but really loved the ducks.
After that we put her pampered bottom into a bathing suit for a dip in the pool.
Then she spent the rest of the weekend....
....just being adorable.

Swings

Lately I've discovered that Madeline sleeps a lot better when we take her outside when she first wakes up. She loves it! Plus, the playgrounds are relatively empty at 6:30 a.m.

Play Dates and Evening Walks

This is Madi with her boyfriend, Isaac. They like to hang out at Central Park and eat each others toys.

Those tranquilizer darts work every time!
In the evenings we like to take a stroll to a nearby church called St. John the Divine to see if we can catch a glimpse of the peacocks that wander around at the school there. Today we got lucky and both of them displayed their feathers.

Heidi is Getting Married

Another one of Madeline's cousins is getting hitched! This is my oldest brother's youngest daughter and her betrothed, Joe. We love you!

We Love Visitors

Being so far away from family it is difficult to get a lot of visitors. But this week was a rare treat. First, Cris came to NYC to hang out with friends, visit NYU, and make a trek to Boston.
Then Ben and Rebekkah came to audition for some Broadway shows. (These are Madeline's cousins who are 20-some-odd years older than her.) Madi showed off her fancy new red hat.

Seven Months Today!

Things she likes:
  • Applesauce and rice cereal
  • Being outside
  • wearing hats
  • books
  • other babies
  • baths
  • mirrors
  • music - (see video below)
Things she dislikes:
  • Getting dressed
  • wind up toys
  • the sound of velcro
  • going to sleep without being rocked
  • battery-less remote controls

We came home after running errands to see Madeline playing the piano with Grandpa. We think she has music in her. She loves to rock back and forth, sing, and reach for the keys.

The second part of the video is Grandpa playing "Madi's Song". Grandpa is one of those musicians that can play the music that's in his head. He wrote this one for Madeline.

Wedding Day in Las Vegas

Wedding Day in Las Vegas
We were surprised to see our family and friends lined up outside the temple after we were married. It was a nice moment for us.
