Charles had a meeting cancel so he took us to the High Line park downtown. It will be cool when it is finished. Right now it's just an elevated promenade where trains used to run on Manhattan's lower west side.
I must admit I was underwhelmed but it did have some nice views of the city and the Hudson River.
Then we took Madi for a nice lunch outside at the Olde Homestead steakhouse. It's actually the oldest steakhouse in the city. Madi enjoyed the truffle mac & cheese.
It has been ages since I've seen Will. He was kind enough to meet us backstage at the Al Hirsch Theater. Will is one talented guy. I can see why he was nominated for a Tony.
Charles had a chance to go to the Bronx with his cousins Ricky (left), Johnny (right) and Johnny's friend from work to see a Yankees game.
He snapped a picture of team captain Derek Jeter getting a base hit to center field. Last night we watched Jeter get his 2,722nd hit, passing the great Lou Gehrig for the most hits by a Yankee.
This is a photo of the Columbia University library. Madeline and I sometimes walk there in the mornings. I think it's a pretty campus.

Madi loved seeing the neighbor's goats. They were only out early in the morning to beat the desert heat. They were also quite friendly...it freaked me out the way they sneak up and get in your face.
