On Tuesday we took Madeline to Jones Beach for some fun in the sun. It's technically in Long Island but it's only a about 10 miles outside of Queens.

She ran through a flock of seagulls with daddy...

...and got tossed in the air in the cool ocean breeze.

She really loved it and couldn't stop staring at the vast blue water and crashing waves.

On Madi's birthday we traveled only a block away to catch the end of the 12th annual Virgin Mary Parade by the Hispanic chapter of the New York Archdiocese. The Friars were in full dress while carrying multiple effigies of 'Maria'.

There was even a live version of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus.

Each Latin American country had a float in the parade with singers, dancers, and musicians. We caught a glimpse of floats from Ecuador and Puerto Rico. We love the culture of NYC!
